William Sewell secret suit rebreather

William Sewell build a rebreather.. in his drysuit

Below you see what I received from William Sewell. Possibly you know his nickname Bill by his Pendulum rebreather which is described elsewhere on this website. At this moment Bill is working at a very ventured project. A Stealth rebreather. He no longer breathes by means of hoses but… directly from his suit. The project is still at an experimental stage, but there is high hope that soon underwater images will appear. So here you see the ultimate specialty, dry suit rebreather diving. An important advantage of this technique is that the diver profits of warmth recovery to its maximum.
The scrubber is positioned right behind the kidneys, and the warmth is transmitted directly to the blood stream. Experimentally it is for certain, but it is also innovating. By the way, Bill is a very experienced rebreather diver. It is not recommended to try this technique by yourself…..

Danger

Attention, the rebreather system shown here is completely untested and unreliable. I strongly advise you not to imitate it because in the event of a leak there will be immediate drowning. Do not imitate this, only see it as a concept, an idea!

Therebreathersite was founded by Jan Willem Bech in 1999. After a diving career of many years, he decided to start technical diving in 1999. He immediately noticed that at that time there was almost no website that contained the history of closed breathing systems. The start for the website led to a huge collection that offered about 1,300 pages of information until 2019. In 2019, a fresh start was made with the website now freely available online for everyone. Therebreathersite is a source of information for divers, researchers, technicians and students. I hope you enjoy browsing the content!
