1918-1920 Neufeldt und Kuhnke HAKI 320

Database German Oxygen rebreathers

Oxygen rebreather designed shortly after the 1st World War HAKI 320

It took me a long time to understand the relation between N&K, Hagenuk and a instrument and communication building company from Kiel.
Hagenuk is short for the german Hanseatische Apparatebau-Gesellschaft ehemals Neufeldt und Kuhncke.

In this page you find some rare pictures of the breathing units made by Hagenuk. Michael Jung allowed me to publish his article originated in Divemaster. He describes the history from Hagenuk from 1899 until today. Also you find pictures of the HAKI 320, the tauchretter form Hagenuk.
Sometime you find these units with the name Audos. The name is a name for the german Automatische Dossierung, mening automatic dosage. The name has been chosen because of the lung operated mechanism of the Hagenuk units.

Therebreathersite was founded by Jan Willem Bech in 1999. After a diving career of many years, he decided to start technical diving in 1999. He immediately noticed that at that time there was almost no website that contained the history of closed breathing systems. The start for the website led to a huge collection that offered about 1,300 pages of information until 2019. In 2019, a fresh start was made with the website now freely available online for everyone. Therebreathersite is a source of information for divers, researchers, technicians and students. I hope you enjoy browsing the content!
